Dear
folks,
We had a great time at the NRA Annual Meeting
and Convention in St. Louis a couple of weeks
ago...the turnout was truly amazing with lots
of folks to talk to and lots of great guns and
gear to check out. One of the reports I got was
more than 60,000 people attended, making it the
largest non-religious convention St. Louis has
ever had. Pete and I ended up having way too
many meetings to cover, so our booth crew, Tim
Dillon, Marc D'Aguanno and Randy Lehman didn't
get to venture too far from our booth. When we
were in the booth, we had a really fun time
meeting and visiting with so many of you. And
for those we missed, our apologies. Maybe we
can catch up in Louisville, Kentucky, May 16,17
& 18, 2008. The crowds were absolutely
fantastic. I must say, it's genuinely
gratifying to see the big crowds around our
booth at the show...makes me enormously
grateful to have so many friends and fans. If
you were at the Convention, you might have seen
a big bunch of our gang wandering around in
logo'd blue shirts, checking out the
sights...by all accounts they had a great time
and were very impressed by everything going on.
We took down 3 bus-loads of our gang, many who
stayed overnight. I've heard many comments from
them on how much they enjoyed seeing the other
booths and talking to the folks manning them,
kind of getting an overall picture of who folks
are and how each is involved with our great
hunting/shooting industry.

Dear
folks,
Spring is here which means summer is fast
approaching. For gun folks like you and me,
that means an enormous slate of shooting
activities around the country...high power
matches, ISPC matches, Camp Perry, three gun
shoots, clays, backyard plinking...the
possibilities for shooting and having a great
time are almost endless. And we just finished
our late turkey season. A few months back, I
bought a nice camo 11/87 Remington for a turkey
hunt, but it was just too long. So, I asked
Dave Bennetts, of our Gun Tech Gang, to shorten
the stock and put on a thinner
Pachmayr Decelerator Pad
(#690-551-158). Made a huge difference
in my shooting comfort and saved my shoulder
even after an afternoon's worth checking
patterns at different distances at the range
with turkey loads. Shooting gets a whole lot
more fun when the gun fits right, doesn't
it!!
